On 7th May 1975, my brother-in-law Shri Subodh Mookerjee (S.D.I.) fell very ill. He had a high fever and a severe cough with restlessness. For two to three years, he was complaining of stomach aches.
The physicians and doctors had all emphasized regulated dieting. But due to taste, he used to eat all kinds of food.
Eggs and fish were loved by him and used to eat them. Medicines also used to go on side by side.
But the pain did not subside. Dr. Chatterjee, a retired civil surgeon living in the neighborhood, was called to examine him.
He said on seeing that broncho-pneumonia has happened and started its treatment.
The fever and cough had subsided a bit, but on 27th May 1975, it happened very intensely, after that it happened again twice more rapidly. Pieces of black-colored blood came out in the vomit. Seeing this we all got very nervous and then called to show Dr. Chatterjee.
He gave injections etc. but his health kept on deteriorating and he died on 28th May.
All the people of the house especially the mother and Mashima who raised him like a child in her lap were very sad. Professor Saheb had brought him up like his brother and child and kept him with him and was distraught due to sorrow.
My mother-in-law could not bear this grief and got up from the bed in the morning on 30th July, she fainted and fell down. We called Dr. As soon as he came, he said that the Paralysis has fallen. She gave up his life on the twelfth day on 12th August.
The lines read in Ramayana on which Poojya Maharaj Ji had written “Ram, Ram” started revolving in my mind.
“Uma, let me say my experience.
Sat Hari Bhajan Jagat Sab Apna |
“उमा कहूँ मैं अनुभव अपना |
सत हरि भजन जगत सब अपना ||”
I realized that all relationships in the world are made by God. Neither one brings anyone with him nor does he take anyone away at the time of death.
The life of a human is like a water bubble and grass. The whole image, the whole game, seems like a dream. Whatever be the case, a person is engaged in the routine of the world even after experiencing great sorrow.
[Thus] the games of the world go on and on.
In April 1976 again the desire to recite Durga Saptashati and Manas became strong. This year was more difficult than last year because my mother-in-law was not alive this year and the responsibility of all the household chores fell on my shoulders.
It became my religion to prepare the kitchen in the morning and evening, to serve the devotees and relatives who came to the house, especially foreign devotees.
Due to these reasons, I could not do many personal tasks, but the desire to finish Durga Saptashati, Ramayana in nine days became so strong, as a result of which I had to start my recitation.
In those days my maternal uncle and mother-in-law had come from Delhi. Durga Saptashati used to be done in the morning before drinking tea and was able to start Manas Path from 3.30 o’clock in the day till drinking tea (evening [till five o’clock]).
After that, I got busy organizing the kitchen. In those days, I was working as Assistant Deputy Director of Education (Women) in the Education Department, so I had to get ready at 10.00 in the morning and had to return at 5.00 in the evening.
While reading on a Chaitra Panchami on April 5, 1976, I realized that someone was standing nearby but the recitation was going on very fast. There was less scope to look here and there as there was a possibility of wasting time.
For this reason, the text was being read with great concentration and devotion.
In the end, we saw that the double line is marked on the right side of the following couplets and by putting a tick mark, we have been told that in today’s Kalikal, the same male is clever who leaves everything and worships God.
कठिन काल मल कोस धर्म न ग्यान न जोग जप |
परिहरी सकल भरोस रामहि भजहि टे चतुर नर ||
उत्तरकाण्ड || ६ख ||

At the end of the lesson, it was also shown to the professor. The hand mark of Poojya Maharaj Ji took everyone by surprise. They keep giving grace by giving such subtle darshan often.
Professor Sahib said, “Now you should not read from this Ramayana.
I did not like the talk very much, that’s why from the day of Saptami, I started reciting from the new Ramayana. In the same room, my uncle and father-in-law were reading a religious book sitting on a comfortable chair.
On the second chair Hanuman Maurya an M.A. A student of economics (now A.D.C. cooperative, in Basti district) was reading his book.
The servant of the house (a child of fourteen, fifteen years old) Babulal was looking at each picture with his fingers flipping over the pages of the second Ramayana and says to Mamiya’s mother-in-law who is sitting in the same room on the carpet at that time.
“Look, the chirai in this is made of Asa?” Even after telling her many times to my mother-in-law, I kept on doing my lessons.
Seeing him, Babulal could not stop and ran to him and said – “Look in the Ramayana, Dada Chirai’s ass has become.” Hearing this, Prof. Saheb came inside to the big room where I was reciting my lessons.
By then my lesson was over. As soon as Prof. Saheb saw it in Ramayana, he was surprised. In this Ramayana, the first page of Shri Hanuman Ji was signed at the time of Poojya Maharaj Ji’s visit to Chitrakoot.
On the second page of this copy and to the left of the 2 verses from the beginning of the lesson, “Ram Ram” is written 27 times. The handwriting is of Poojya Maharaj Ji, there is no doubt about it. Even before this, “Ram Ram” written by Poojya Maharaj hand has been received in his absence.
Saints always keep giving darshan directly and indirectly to inspire their devotees.
On 9th April, on the day of Ram Navami, Sundar Kand’s recitation and Bhandara were organized on a large scale as per the orders of Poojya Maharaj Ji.
