‘And the bus stopped’
February 5, 1971
It was winter Month February 5th | Poojya Maharaj Ji used to stay mostly on 4 church lane in winters and used to go to Sangam with devotees occasionally.
On February 6, Professor Sahib, Ashoka, Siddhi didi, Jayanti didi and I went to Sangam with Poojya Maharaj Ji.
After worshiping the Ganges and offering flowers, garlands, etc., we had turned around thinking of returning to our homes after seeing the Bade Hanuman, that a huge tourist bus was seen coming from the front.

Poojya Maharaj Ji and Professor Sahib were walking ahead.
Suddenly the bus has stopped as if it has stopped by force. Some noise is being heard among the passengers from afar. Men and women of the strong figures of tall, fair complexion are descending in a hustle and bustle. “There He is” was heard.
Didn’t understand who said it.
Prof. Richard Albert [name given by Poojya Maharaj Ji as Ramdass], Jagannath Das, Maya, Dwarka, Rameshwar Das, Balram Das, etc. people quickly descended and prostrated to Poojya Maharaj. Poojya Maharaj Ji said –
“Come to our house!”
Where?
“Number Four Church Lane!”
“The Red House” [The Red House],
At what time?
“Six o’clock in the evening!”

I was thinking in my mind that five are ringing here. How will tea and water be arranged for so many persons? Well, thinking this in my mind, no problem has arisen because Poojya Maharaj Ji is the one with us to make all the arrangements.
On returning home, the tea water was being prepared in two big pans. Professor Sahib ordered double roti, butter, namkeen, and a lot of sweets from the market.
Exactly six big tourist buses started coming in front of the house.
Seeing the punctuality of foreigners, the people of India have to press their fingers under their teeth.
Professor sahib ran and hugged all the devotees like Ram Dass, Jagannath Das, Rameshwar Das, Harinam Das, Maryam, Krishnadas, etc., and Halo! Hello! Saying he brought them into the house.
No one had ever seen such a large number of foreigners in the neighborhood.
All the neighboring women, men, and children started peeping from their respective homes. The occupants also started watching with great interest.
In the evening the sound of ‘Hare Rama, Hare Krishna’ reverberated in the atmosphere of the house in a foreign voice. All were singing the kirtans happily while standing in the building.
I also came to see them again and again leaving my work.
Poojya Maharaj Ji ordered as follows:-
“Dada give him tea!” Hearing this, I ran to the kitchen. Mr. Mukund Joshi (now Accounts Officer, AGUP) and his wife Rama, and Mr. Rajiv Pandey’s wife whom I address as sister-in-law came and immediately started sifting tea in the kitchen and the boys started distributing.
Various types of sweets, namkeen, double roti, fruits, etc. were given to the foreign devotees sitting in all the pangat in which Prof. Richard Albert(Ram Dass) was the chief. Everyone was pleased with great fervor and started accepting the prasad.
There was a lot of joy and enthusiasm on the face of every devotee. These people were drinking tea when Poojya Maharaj Ji ordered – “Feed Dada Khana.” Hearing this, sister-in-law, Rama, etc. went to the kitchen and started the work of baking bread by putting lentils and potatoes in a big pan and kneading the dough.
The food was soon ready. As per the orders of Maharaj Ji, all the devotees took the prasad. It was ten o’clock in the night, Maharaj Ji ordered the foreign devotees to go. While leaving Shri Ram Dass asked :-
“When should we come next, Baba?”
“Tomorrow at six in the morning!”
At six o’clock in the morning, the bus stopped near the gate of Lal Ghar. I had prepared tea etc.
Maharaj Ji was in his bedroom. Foreign devotees were getting eager to meet Maharaj Ji. Professor Sahib said “Shri Ram Ram Kariye” after this tea, snacks were given to all the devotees.
After a few moments, Babaji came out and gave darshan to everyone. Jalebi had come in this. Everyone was given sweets filled up and after that Maharaj Ji asked them to leave.
Everyone got happy and sat down on their bus after bowing.
