That day was Sunday. I had roasted gram flour for laddus in the morning so that I will make laddus when it cools down. It was ten o’clock. Professor Saheb said, “Come on Siddhi Didi’s place” saying and I agreed to go.
That year Siddhi didi was staying with the family members of Shri Vijay Choudhary (relative) in the upstairs rooms. Many years had passed since her husband Shri Tularam Shah (Proprietor India Hotel) died. Siddhi didi used to come to Allahabad every year.
When we returned after meeting her, it was 11.00. Professor Sahib, on returning, as usual, proceeding towards his study room, saw that someone has wrapped the bed sheet etc laid on the bed and kept it in a circle. and which is his bed, quilt, mattress, rug, blanket pillow, which is used by Mama ji’s bed. It was removed before planting and the bed was covered with pus and kept in his room on his face wash post.(
हम लोग जब उनसे मिलकर लौटे तो 11.00 बज रहे थे| प्रोफेसर साहब सदैव की भाँती लौटने पर अपने अध्ययन कक्ष की ओर बढ़ते देखा की तखत पर बिछाया हुआ बिछौना किसी ने लपेट कर गोला कर पैताने की और रख दिया है तथा जो उनका बिछौना, रजाई, गद्दा, दरी, कम्बल तकिया जिसको मामा जी के बिछौना लगाने से पूर्व हटाया गया था तथा पलंग पश से ढँक कर उनकी मुँह धोने की चौकी पर उन्ही के कक्ष में रक्खा गया था|
